If a tooth is weakened or cracked through tooth decay or damage, it is recommended to prepair it for a dental crown where possible. If the root is compromised then extraction and a titanium implant is surgically fixed to your jaw and allowed to “fuse”, after which an abutment is added. In both cases a crown will be cemented to the tooth or implant to restore your teeths bite. They are made of different materials in a dental laboratory.
