The practice has been at its current location on Swan Street for over 30 years and the principle, Alwyn Miller, has been treating patients in the area for over 50 years.

That’s why we consider ourselves to be an integral part of the town, helping families look after their oral health and providing a superior private dental service.

About West Malling

West Malling is a pleasant market town in the Tonbridge and Malling district. It has its own railway station with connections to London and the South East and is conveniently located near to the M20. Larger towns like Maidstone, Sevenoaks and Tonbridge are near by but West Malling retains a “rural” feel of a small town popular with tourists and locals alike.

St Leonard’s Tower and St Mary’s Abbey are West Mallings most famous landmarks and date back to Norman times. St Mary’s was built for Benedictine nuns who resided there until Henry VIII took it away from them after his troubles with the Catholic church.

The site was restored in the 1900’s and is once again home to the Nuns as Malling Abbey. Some are treated as patients at the practice.

There are plenty of places to eat and drink in West Malling including numerous bars, restaurants and coffee shops like The Swan which is a popular 15th Century gastro pub next door to the practice. Considering the size of the town (just over 2000) there are enough restaurants and bars to cater for everyone’s tastes creating a lively and prosperous town centre.

Kings Hill and RAF West Malling

RAF West Malling had a long history in the area until its land was sold off in 1989 to create Kings Hill.

During the First World War it was used as a landing base for planes bombing the front line. Again, in the Second World War it was used as a base for raids into Nazi occupied Europe.

The base was still in use after the war by the RAF and civil/commercial flying until it closure in 1969. Afterwards the building around the base were used for various purposes including temporary housing and as a film location. Eventually the airport land got sold off to commercial developers who redeveloped it to what you see today.

Some of the airport buildings are still standing today on the Kings Hill estate which is a mixed residential and business area. The control tower is a coffee shop and the officers mess is the headquarters of Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council. Many of the Kings Hill street names pay homage to the Royal Air Force.
